Mass-Builder Balsamic-glazed Sirloin Steak, Quinoa & Cherry Tomatoes Plate
A hearty Italian bowl: sirloin steak with quinoa, spinach and cherry tomatoes. Around 1089 kcal and 95g protein per portion.
Ingredients
- 230g Sirloin Steak
- 255g quinoa
- 80g spinach
- 80g cherry tomatoes
- 15g balsamic vinegar
- 5g honey
- 3g garlic
- 5g olive oil
- 30g goat's cheese
- 15g walnuts
- 20g rocket
Method
-
1
Prep everything first: wash and trim the spinach and cherry tomatoes, then measure out the sauce ingredients.
-
2
Rinse the quinoa and simmer in 2 parts water for 15 minutes until the tails appear, then fluff.
-
3
Bring the steak to room temperature, season, and sear in a smoking-hot pan for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain.
-
4
Simmer the balsamic vinegar with honey and garlic for 2-3 minutes until syrupy. Drizzle over the protein and veg.
-
5
Meanwhile, steam or stir-fry the spinach and cherry tomatoes for 3-5 minutes until just tender with a little bite.
-
6
Build the plate: quinoa first, then the veg and sirloin steak, spooning over any remaining sauce. Finish with the rocket.

Bulking upgrade: add the goat's cheese, walnuts for extra energy-dense calories.
