Mass-Builder Tikka Sirloin Steak & Quinoa Bowl with Carrot
A vibrant Indian bowl: sirloin steak with quinoa, carrot and spinach. Around 1182 kcal and 99g protein per portion.
Ingredients
- 230g Sirloin Steak
- 255g quinoa
- 80g carrots
- 80g spinach
- 25g curry paste
- 60g greek yoghurt
- 10g lemon juice
- 65g ½ naan
- 5g ghee
- fresh coriander & a pinch of garam masala
Method
-
1
Prep everything first: wash and trim the carrot and spinach, then measure out the sauce ingredients.
-
2
Rinse the quinoa and simmer in 2 parts water for 15 minutes until the tails appear, then fluff.
-
3
Bring the steak to room temperature, season, and sear in a smoking-hot pan for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain.
-
4
Combine the tikka paste, yoghurt and lemon juice. Coat the protein and leave for at least 10 minutes (or overnight) before cooking.
-
5
Meanwhile, steam or stir-fry the carrot and spinach for 3-5 minutes until just tender with a little bite.
-
6
Build the bowl: quinoa first, then the veg and sirloin steak, spooning over any remaining sauce. Finish with the fresh coriander & a pinch of garam masala.

7
Bulking upgrade: add the ½ naan, ghee for extra energy-dense calories.
